I think you got it, this song is one of my top favorites, I first heard it when I was in first year at my prep. school, that was back in 1997 or 98 just as soon as it was released, it was performed by an Australian band named "Savage Garden" consisted of 2 guys (Daniel and Darren) who decided to part company later. The music is surely nice as well as the lyrics, for me I like the part says:

And when the stars are shining brightly in the velvet sky
I'll make a wish, send it to heaven, then make you want to cry

To fancy the chances of being there, as it says, standing on a mountain, I picked the picture of these two over that spot of Patagonia mounatins in South America, I don't know where exactly they had been but it's either in Argentina or Chile, you can see the elegant lake they were overlooking at and despite the snow covering the place around them I can guess there was some warmth in the atmosphere they shared... anyway Patagonia has various places to cherish over the year and the sky can be seen as velvet...
